Where a stop sign is erected at or near the entrance to an intersection, the operator of a vehicle approaching shall bring the vehicle to a stop before crossing a stop line or crosswalk; or, if none, then before entering the intersection. Stopping at a point which does not yield an unobstructed view of traffic on the intersecting street shall not constitute compliance with the requirements of this section. (3629 §12(4), 1972).
