The applicant, property owner, or other parties that participated, may appeal a decision of the director to the planning commission within 15 calendar days of the date the written notice of the decision is mailed. Written notice of the appeal shall be filed with the planning department and shall set forth in detail the basis for and issues raised in the appeal. If the appeal is not taken within the 15 day period, the decision of the planning director shall be final. If an appeal is filed, the planning commission shall receive a report and recommendation thereon from the planning director and shall hold a public hearing on the appeal subject to the procedure stated in MMC 17.72.130. Notice of a planning commission hearing on an appeal of a decision of the planning director shall take the form of that provided for in MMC 17.72.110(A).
