As per MMC 2.04.090, Maintenance of Order (Ord. 3544 §9, 1971), the chief of police or such other member of the Police Department as he may designate shall be sergeant at arms of the council meeting. Such sergeant at arms shall carry out all lawful orders and instructions given by the presiding officer for the purpose of maintaining order and decorum at the council meetings.
