A. Except as provided in subsection B of this section, the provisions of MMC 5.42.030 through 5.42.120, shall be used by the city for the purpose of collecting the tax imposed by MMC 5.42.020.

B. Notwithstanding the provisions set forth in subsection A of this section, the city may contract with the state of Oregon for the purpose of collecting the tax imposed by MMC 5.42.020, and the provisions of any such contract shall be used for the purpose of imposing such tax.
