From and after the passage of the ordinance codified in this chapter, no permits shall be issued or granted by the common council of the city for the installation of any additional pumps for supplying gasoline, distillate or other petroleum products for motor vehicles on the sidewalk on either side of Third Street between Adams Street and Hembree Street in the city, or the installation of any tanks or containers for storage of gasoline, distillate or other petroleum products under the sidewalk and other portion of the street on either side of Third Street between Adams Street and Hembree Street.
