A violation of this title shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars or by imprisonment not to exceed one year, or by both jail and fine, except that the maximum penalty for a violation of this title shall not exceed the maximum penalty prescribed by Oregon Revised Statutes for the same offense.
