At the time of payment of the purchase price, the chief of police shall execute a certificate of sale, in duplicate, the original of which shall be delivered to the purchaser, and a copy thereof filed with the recorder of the city, which certificate of sale shall be substantially in the following form:

CERTIFICATE OF SALE

This is to certify that under the provisions of ordinance No. 1980, entitled ‘An ordinance providing for the disposition of motor vehicles coming into the hands of the police department of the city of McMinnville, through abandonment by the owner, arrest, or otherwise, and declaring an emergency,’ and pursuant to due notice of time and place of sale I did on the ___________ day of ___________, 20______, sell at public auction to ________________________________________for the sum of $_____________________, cash, he being the highest and best bidder, and that being the highest and best sum bid therefore, the following described personal property, to wit: (Brief description of property) _______________________________________________. And in consideration of the payment of said sum of $_____________________ receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, I have this day delivered to said purchaser the foregoing property. Dated this ___________ day of ___________, 20______.

Note: The city of McMinnville assumes no responsibility as to the condition of title of the above described property. In case this sale shall for any reason be invalid the liability of the city is limited to the return of the purchase price.
