A. At least 10 working days prior to the trial date, the parties shall appear before the judge or the designated municipal court clerk. Prior to that date, the judge shall randomly select 18 prospective jurors by name from the jury panel. The defendant or his attorney may then challenge three of the prospective jurors and the city may also challenge three.

B. When 12 jurors have been selected, they shall be notified to appear at trial at the time and place appointed by the court. From the prospective jurors who appear, six shall be selected to serve as the jury. No further peremptory challenge shall be made by either the defendant or the city, but a prospective juror may be excused for cause. (Ord. 4658 §2, 1997; Ord. 3990 §2, 1979; Ord. 3541 §7, 1970).
