All licenses shall be subject to the regulations imposed by the city, and nothing contained in the licensing ordinances of the city shall be construed to create any vested right in any person to the assignment, renewal, reissuance or continuance of any license, and the right shall be and remain at all times vested in the council, and the council, as provided in this chapter, may revoke and cancel any license for fraud or misrepresentation in its procurement or for the violation of any ordinance under which such trade, business, occupation or pursuit has been secured, or for the violation of any of the provisions of this chapter or any other ordinance of the city, or of any state or federal law, or for any conduct or act of the licensee or his employees, or permitted by him or them on the premises where such business is conducted, or in connection therewith or adjacent thereto, tending to render such business or the premises where the same is conducted a public nuisance or a menace to the health, peace and general welfare of the city, or whenever, in the judgment of the council, the public interest demands such revocation.
