At least once every 60 days each owner shall cause all buses owned by him to be inspected by the chief of police, said inspection to consist of a thorough examination of the brakes, lights, and other safety equipment of each bus. If, in the opinion of the chief of police, any bus is not safe, or is in a defective or dangerous condition, said owner shall cause such bus to be altered or repaired and placed in a safe condition before the same is again operated upon the streets of the city. The chief of police may delegate said inspection to any regular police officer employed by the city. (Ord. 2179 §7, 1946).
