Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of this chapter shall be punished by a fine of not less than five dollars nor more than 20 dollars for the first offense, and for a second and each subsequent offense shall be punished by a fine of not less than ten dollars nor more than $50.00 or by imprisonment in the city jail of not less than five days nor more than 25 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, and each day’s continuance of such violation shall be deemed a separate and additional offense or violation of this chapter.
