Each council person shall be entitled to nominate one candidate for each office or position which is vacant. A second to the nomination shall not be necessary. A signed statement by the candidate indicating his willingness to serve in a particular office or position must be filed with the recorder prior to or at the same time as the nomination is made. Failure to file such a statement shall make the candidate ineligible for nomination. (Ord. 3818 §1 (part), 1976).
